Operational Analysis
The Operational Analysis department provides a range of expert analytical skills (e.g. statistics, operational research, mathematical modelling and problem solving) to support operational performance monitoring and performance improvement initiatives within NATS. It provides information and support with respect to:
• Current performance
• Predicted future performance
• Relative risks, key drivers, performance indicators
• Support for implementation of improvements (including communication/awareness).
The main areas in which the department undertakes analyses are traffic and business forecasts, safety, airspace capacity, runway capacity and environment. The department also undertakes a significant programme of external business through consultancy services.
