At NATS, we operate an Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) accredited Engineering Technician Scheme, which runs over approximately 18 months and combines formal training followed by work placements.

The Engineering Technician Training Scheme offers the opportunity to move around other engineering-related areas within NATS, so you'll gain a variety of engineering experience. It will also provide you with a recognised, world-class level of training.

During the scheme you could be installing, calibrating or maintaining NATS equipment. You could find yourself working at a remote location, such as Great Dun Fell Radar or at one of the world's busiest Air Traffic Control Centres at Swanwick or Prestwick, or at a UK-based airport. On successful completion of the scheme, you'll graduate to work as an Air Traffic Control Engineer.

Applications open between January and April with interviews between May and June for a September intake.

Your starting salary will be £16,480* and will increase on successful completion of milestones. On graduation, your salary will be £24,452*. Your graduation is just the start of the career ladder in NATS and, as you move up this, your rewards, knowledge and responsibility will increase.
