Training and development

The Science Graduate Scheme usually starts around October each year and offers an initial period of training, mainly based at our Corporate and Technical Centre (CTC), Whiteley, Hampshire. This training provides a broad understanding of NATS and air traffic management.

As a graduate, you'll carry out various placements during your first year to gain on-the-job experience across distinct projects. Working within different teams, you can expect exposure to various business areas and customers, and enjoy responsibility for key tasks. At the end of your first year, you will focus on work relating to your longer-term role.

Throughout the two years, you'll receive additional training to enhance your core communication, report writing, presentation and project management skills as well as any required technical knowledge.

It's probably also important to point out that the Science Graduate Scheme is not a fast-track course but it does offer you a condensed phase of learning when you first join, to help you develop your career at NATS.
